REFLECTIONS - Mise-en-Scene

The mise-en-scene in our project fits well with our chosen genre, in order to convey to the audience the overall feel of our piece. There is a significant difference in mise-en-scene between the transition of thriller to comedy. For example in the first section ( the thriller part ) the colours in the shots are darker , mostly consisting of white , black and greys with blood red being the only colour to really stand out. By doing this it makes the blood the center focus of the shots as it stands out the audiences eye. However by looking at the mise-en-scene as it develops in the first thriller section you are able to see hints of comedy, as we included objects such as the loo roll with credits written on, which diverts from the thriller mise-en-scene. Also as seen on the loo roll all of our credits were hand written, which again hinted at the comedy and drew away from building tension within the audience, but i still feel that this is an aspect which we could have expanded to further improve the piece.
Finally the second section ( comedy ) there was a define change in mise-en-scene, as demonstrated by the use of colours and objects, creating a juxtaposition.
